Review: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Polish

About.com Rating 2.5

By , About.com Guide

There's nothing wrong with rocking a polish-free mani, in fact, it's what I do the majority of the time. But there are those special occasions when you want a pop of color on your nails. I tested out the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color to see how it works in a pinch.

How Does the Insta-Dri Polish Work?

The Sally Hansen polish has an over-sized brush so you can coat each nail in one stroke. I tested it without a base coat or top coat. Both are recommended when wearing a darker color. The bottle promises the polish will dry in 60 seconds.

How Did the Insta-Dri Polish Perform?

The polish went on quickly--the over-sized brush is genius. One coat, even with a dark color, was enough to thoroughly cover my nails. As promised, it did dry in 60 seconds and has a nice shiny finish.

The downside is that it chipped the very next day-badly. The Sally Hansen website does recommend using a base and top coat with the darker colors (I used Violet Voom!). I didn't use either as that seemed to defeat the purpose of the 60 second manicure./

Is the Insta-Dri Polish Right for Me?

I fully recommend the Sally Hansen Insta Dri Polish for those times when you're headed to a party or other special event and want a colorful mani. The polish comes in 24 shades from classic light pink to red to trendy colors like blue and black.

Be forewarned, however, that unless you use a base and top coat, the mani may not last for more than 24 hours.
