Kate Middelton often reaches for her favorite and most flattering silhouette, a fitted, knee-length dress with sleeves. Think back to the blue Issa dress she wore for her engagement announcement with Prince William in October 2010. It had a very similar cut to this cream version that she wore in 2011 to the summer opening of Buckingham Palace.

When Duchess Kate and Prince William toured Canada last year, much fuss was made over Kate's many outfits. On a tour of the Calgary Zoo, Kate wore a striking red suit with a Canadian maple leaf brooch that she reportedly borrowed from Queen Elizabeth. When you're wearing a bright color, one look-at-me piece of jewelry is enough, extra points if it has sentimental value.

Invest in a high quality pair and you'll wear them for years.
