Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss Review
Fans of CoverGirl Boundless Color Nail polish, which was taken off the market about two years ago, will be thrilled to learn about the introduction of the new Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss. The revamped claims it needs no base coat or top coat, dries quickly and lasts up to seven days. Sounds like a nail polish lover’s dream come true! But how did it perform in real life?

How Do You Use the Nail Polish?

As with any polish you simply paint your nails. Unlike most other polishes, the 3-in-1 polish does not require a base coat or top coat, both are built in to the innovative formula.

You should file your nails and make sure the nail bed is clean and dry before applying the nail polish.

What I Like About the Nail Polish

True to its claim, the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss stays glossy without a base coat or top coat. I was a little worried that without a base coat, the polish, especially the darker colors like the metallic maroon Forever Festive, would stain my nails. But that didn’t happen.

The polish definitely dried quickly—I would say it took about five minutes before I was able to move my hands around again.

I am also a big fan of the range of colors—the line is launching with 45 hues, including sheers and pastels (Snow Storm, Perma-Pink, Peaches N Cream, Lav-endure and more); pinks to reds (Peek a Boo Pink, Ever Red-dy, Lasting Loveand more); nudes (Silver Lining, Forever Fawn, Non-Stop Stone, Bronze Beauty and more); corals to mauves (Coral Silk, Go-Go Mango, Wine Stain, Amethyst and more); and deep tones (Mint Mojito, Constant Caribbean, Out of the Blue, Black Diamond and more).

I also love the high-end look of the bottle. It’s a simple-square shape with a black cap.

Take note nail art fans: The nail polishes were made to be layered, so have fun creating ombré effects, chevron stripes, outlines and more with the polish.

What Could Be Improved About the Nail Polish?

It may have just been me, but I started experiencing chipping after three days of wear with Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss. I tried to be careful and wear gloves when I was doing dishes or cleaning, but to no avail.

In the polishes’ defense, I did have a professional manicure using the color and it did last closer to seven days when a manicurist painted my nails. Still, I’m more often to paint my nails then get them done at a salon, so I wished it lasted longer when I did my nails myself.

Is the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss right for you?

If you are looking for a quick way to polish your nails, you would be hard pressed to find a better choice than Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss. It does not require a base coat or top coat and dries in an impressive five minutes.

The polish comes in a wide range for 45 colors, so you’re certain to find the hue that works for you, be it classic or trendy, light or dark.

You may find that your nail polish starts to chip after three days, so if you need a long-lasting mani, this may not be the best choice for you.

The suggested retail price of Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss is $5.49.
