A new site, Lacquerous, does exactly that. For an $18 a month rental fee, you'll be sent three polishes to use for the month. Currently Tom Ford, Deborah Lippmann, NARS, Butter London, OPI, Chanel, MAC, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana are participating. After the month is up, you send the polishes back in a postage pre-paid envelope.
While I love the idea of trying out new colors, not to mention not having to stalk the stores for the season's must-have polish, the whole thing seems a little odd to me. Renters are asked not to use the polish more than three times in a month, but still, I would hate to be the person who got the dregs of Chanel's Diwali.
