Chris Rock on His Own Hair

You gotta love a man like Chris Rock. He's cute, funny and he gets what African American women deal with in the journey to attain the ever elusive good hair. Good Hair is the name of his documentary, which opened to rave reviews over the weekend.

While I haven't had a chance to catch the movie yet, I did read a brief interview with Chris Rock in Allure's October issue. Chris says he never disliked his hair, though he did put a lot of chemicals in it in the past. As for regrettable styles, Chris answers, "I've had a Jheri curl, I've had a relaxer, I've had my hair straightened--but they were all appropriate at the time. I always thought I would be in show business, so I would walk around with hair like Jermaine Jackson living my normal life working at Red Lobster."

As for my own regrettable style--that would have to be my perm in the early 1990s. I guess we always want what we can't have! And inevitably the attempt to get that style ends up being a big waste of time and money. How about you? Any regrettable hair styles in your past?
