Star Trek as Fashion Inspiration

Have you seen Star Trek yet? If not—make time for it this Memorial Day weekend—it’s an instant classic, and I don’t generally like sci fi. One of the things that struck me as I was watching the futuristic film is how easy it would be to get dressed if we all had uniforms. Granted, few can pull of a red micro mini dress and black knee-high boots as well as Zoe Saldana did as Uhura, but just think of all the time we would save if we wore the same thing everyday!

I’ve definitely woken up wishing I had a closet full of the same socially-acceptable ensemble.
Not sure about those early Starfleet uniforms for the ladies, though. I’d contact human resources about those standard-issue miniskirts and go-go boots.
